You’ll be received at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu by a representative of Nepal Trekking Planner and escorted to the hotel for your stay after you shall complete the necessary formalities at the customs. Take some rest at the hotel and get some briefing about the trip that is to begin and about this beautiful nation. You will later be picked up by the guide for a short sightseeing to the nearby Kathmandu’s Durbar Square that has a historical royal palace, temples, and other heritages. Also explore the mystical city with its multitude of souvenir shops, cobbled streets filled with vendors, spice markets and many more. Later in the evening cherish the authentic cultural dinner and enjoy the warm hospitality of the hotel staffs. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.
The exploration of this culturally rich capital city of Nepal and its heritage in a guided sightseeing shall be the main attraction of today’s itinerary. Star attractions of this sightseeing are the ancient Buddhist stupa of Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, known for its unique blend of Hinduism and Buddhism besides the beautiful view of Kathmandu city from its premises. We then head on to the Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world, which has the Tibetan community, Sherpas and tourists circumambulating around it alike every day. Get immersed in the peaceful Buddhist mantras and observe the pilgrims paying their respect to Lord Buddha. We shall then visit the Hindu sacred pilgrimage of Pashupatinath Temple, in the complex of which you shall find several small temples, statues, and ancient heritage. People find the meaning of life when they observe the open cremation at the bank of holy Bagmati River, get blessings from the sadhus draped in saffron and holding trident, and feel the positivity. Later in the afternoon, get briefed about the trekking and check the gears and equipment for the trek. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.
Organize your trekking equipment and pack your bags the day before, as we shall leave early for Lukla which is the gateway to the Everest. Led by trekking guide, we shall reach Lukla from the scenic flight in a carefully loaded twin otter that shall mark the adventure in the region. Aerial view of the vast landscape with lush valleys and hills, view of the glittering mountains, serpentine shaped rivers weaving the settlements and valleys and dramatic sight of the terraced hills makes this flight entertaining. After landing in the Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla and meeting with other trek members, we embark on an introductory trek to Phakidng. In the route used traditionally by various communities and traders to trade with Tibet, we shall move ahead in the trail. Trek begins with the steep descent to Chheplung village past stone walls, we reach to Thado Koshigaon. Crossing a suspension bridge, the journey shall continue on to Phakding through small settlements, a viewpoint of Kusum Kangaroo, past prayer wheels and prayer flags, dense forest, diverse flora, and fauna, besides the caravan of trekkers and climbers, porters and locals in and out of the Khumbu valley. Stay overnight in Phakding.
Our trekking continues along the majestic and torrential Dudh Koshi River towards the ancient trading hub of Namche Bazaar. Starting with the first view of Kongde Ri Peak and through some suspension bridges, the trail turns to the beautiful Benkar valley past beautiful waterfall, ancient gompa and lush forests decorating the surroundings. At Benkar we enjoy the view of Thamserku (6623m) and the sacred Khumbila Peak (5765m) before stopping briefly at Monjo, the gateway of Sagarmatha National Park. Moving ahead through Jorsale village we reach to Larja Dobhan, cross a high suspension bridge over the confluence of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi and embark on the trail that goes steeply till Namche Bazaar. En route to Namche, we have the view of majestic peaks such as Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m) and Nuptse (7879m) providing some relief during the ascent on the steep section. Namche Bazaar is famous for being the buzzing Sherpa town, and perfect town for acclimatization and hub for day hikes, having superb surrounding and scenery as well as rich cultural heritage. Stay overnight in Namche Bazaar.
In the day set aside for rest, we shall take on activities that shall help us acclimatize faster for our trekking journey ahead. In a town known for its colorful and lively nature, Namche has interesting shops and buzzing Saturday market, tasty cuisines, and beautiful scenery as well as warm welcoming Sherpa people and the unchanged characteristics of this town since ages. Visit the Sherpa cultural museum for detailed information on mountaineering in the region, flora and fauna, history and geography of the Himalayas, and the culture and traditions of the local inhabitants. Before the weather creates hurdle, get involved in an early day hike to one of the nearby destinations. Everest View Hotel that provides the marvelous view of the Mount Everest Lhotse, the beautiful Ama Dablam and other nearby peaks, the twin villages of Khumjung and Khunde knew for ancient monasteries with old age heritages and school and hospital built by Edmund Hillary Foundation, are the popular day hike destinations from Namche Bazaar. After exploring the surrounding areas, prepare for the trekking ahead. Stay overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Trekking to the higher altitudes, we shall start our walk with a short but steep climb out of the Namche Bazaar before trekking on a fairly leveled trail to reach the settlements of Kenjoma and Sanasa through the dense forest and other vegetation, view of the mighty Everest and occasional exchange of greetings with fellow trekkers from other expeditions. After the trail junction leading to the Gokyo valley and the Everest base camp, we head down to the riverbed of the mighty Dudh Koshi River and climb on to Phunke Tenga through several bridges and some hamlets. Marked by water driven prayer wheels, Phunke Tenga generally serves as the resting place before taking on the steep trail leading to Tengboche. In a climb of around one hour and a half to two hours, ascent to Tengboche takes you in a twisting tail built on the hill through rhododendron forest. Take it easy when you go for such an uphill climb as you are now heading to the higher altitude where you definitely won’t want to be affected with altitude mountain sickness. In Tengboche visit the ancient monastery famous for celebration of Mani Rimdu festival, huge statue of Lord Buddha, intricate wall paintings and peaceful chants by the monks, the breathtaking scenery of the majestic mountains (including Kwangde, Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Kantega and Thamserku Peaks) where blooming rhododendron flower contrasts with its color. Stay overnight in Tengbohe.
Leaving the amazing sunset and sunrise of Tengboche, today we shall head for another interesting village of Dingboche. Through the forest we descent from Dingboche to reach the village of Deboche that provides beautiful views of lofty Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and others. We head on in the trail through the sighting of Musk Deer, Monal and Blue Sheep and cross the exciting suspension bridge over Imja River before reaching the settlement of Panchboche. Ancient stupa in the upper Pangboche, surrounded by trees, is a stoppage worth a short visit. Ahead in the trail, we have alpine vegetation as we move through a landscape with scrub juniper and tundra until we reach Dingboche. The trekking section through Somare is rather flat; after this village, we cross a suspension bridge and follow the Imja River upstream as we part our way from the trail to Pheriche. Further ahead in the trail we reach Dingboche where the trail from Lobuche to the Island Peak climb meets. Dingboche is a small village with stone walled houses, cultivation fields and the exquisite view of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam. Stay overnight in Dingboche.
In another day of rest and acclimatization in this trekking expedition, we shall have an important day before reaching the ultimate destination of this trip. The day will be utilized by short hikes to higher altitudes to adapt ourselves to higher altitudes. Hike to Nangkartshang Gompa provides the trekkers with breathtaking views, opportunity to get insight into the heritages such as intricate paintings, Thangka and Yeti scalp, and hand. Explore the valley formed by mighty Imja River and the beautiful trail leading to the Island peak. Short hike to the hill behind Dingboche is another option which provides us with the view of a couple of six-thousand peaks. After exploring the breathtaking surrounding, capturing memories of the valley, we return for the overnight stay. Stay overnight in Dingboche and prepare for the next day trek.
This section of trekking begins with the gradual ascent from the settlement of Dingboche and come across grazing areas of cattle and the beautiful mountains to the far make the trek pleasant. Trekking past chortens, Mani walls, and stupas, we move forward with the view of beautiful Tabuche Peak (6495m), Ama Dablam Mountain and many more, glacial valleys and vast landscape before we climb onto the valley of Dughla, last settlement before traveling further to the base camp. Ahead of this is the most poignant section of today’s trek. An hour of trek leads us to the height of the high ground overlooking the Khumbu valley, called Chukpo Lari, where monuments are built in remembrance of the mountaineers who lost their lives during their expedition to conquer Everest. The trail then descends to the western side of the valley after walking over the glacial moraines of the majestic Khumbu Glacier. Stay overnight in Lobuche.
This is the day you are waiting for! Today we shall be heading for the Everest Base Camp as the destination. Be careful of the acute mountain sickness in this altitude and trek accordingly. The trek from Lobuche begins early in the morning after breakfast. We reach Gorakshep after trekking over the lateral moraines of the Khumbu Glacier past the Italian research center, the rocky paths, cautiously avoiding the ice pinnacles and occasional crevasses in the Khumbu region. The trail ascends over the Lobuche Pass and then reaches to the section sandwiched by large glaciers of Changri Nup and Khumbu. Shortly ahead is the awaited Gorakshep, our stoppage for lunch and the place of overnight stay for today. After refreshment, we head for our ultimate destination, the Everest Base Camp. Through the rocky path and on the New Moraine Route, we trek to the base camp. Flooded with the tents and camps of the climbers in the peak season, Everest Base Camp is the destination of the lifetime. The euphoric feeling of being there is beyond words and to be in the lap of the world’s tallest peak is something extraordinary. After capturing the memories of these extraordinary moments, we return back to the Gorakshep. You shall get completely lost in the beauty of the sunset visible from the base camp. Stay overnight in Gorakshep.
Get ready for another beautiful trekking day in the roof of the world as we trek to the Kala Patthar before making a return to the lower altitudes. Before the day breaks, we shall today get ready with our equipment and go for one of the most beautiful sunrises you will ever see. In a straight trek from Gorakshep to this small brown hill dwarfed by the Himalayas, we shall have the close-up view of the mighty Everest. Ideal for photographers, the sight of the Himalayas including Mt, Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse and Changtse Peaks, the majestic Khumbu Glacier and the south-east face of Everest. Reach for the higher point of this black hill and capture as many memories as you can. After this extraordinary scenery, trek down to Gorakshep for lunch before heading down to Pheriche. We shall descent gradually from Gorakshep, in ups and downs and through the rocky terrain before taking an exit from the vicinity of Everest at Dughla and walking straight to Pheriche. Through the damp valley floor covered with moss, from the alpine vegetation to the sub-alpine vegetation this trek is mostly a downhill walk. Stay overnight in Pheriche.
The return from the vicinity of Everest continues as we depart from the beautiful Periche to the busy hub of Namche Bazaar. In this mostly downhill trek, we now are with the company of the torrential Dudh Koshi River. Our trek will be rather gradual as we won’t want to put much strain on our shaky legs and ankles. In this busy trekking trail, we shall encounter the caravan of fellow trekkers, porters, locals and their pet animals like Yak used for transporting goods; make sure you give way to them. Through the beautiful and dense forests, waterfalls, exciting and sometimes vertiginous suspension bridges festooned with prayer flags, flat and bumpy trails, gompas and monasteries, rural settlements and the culture and traditions practiced there are some of the major highlights of this section of the trek. Water driven prayer wheels, viewpoints of the Himalayas, sights of rare wild animals and strenuous stone steps shall take us to the destination of Namche Bazaar. Explore the busy streets of this ancient trade point and the current tourist hub as you take rest for today in this beautiful village. Stay overnight in Namche Bazaar.
This section of a trek is the last of such trekking in this adventurous journey that climaxed in the base camp of Everest. Descent on a steep trail out of the Namche Bazaar to descent at the riverbed of a confluence of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi River and after crossing over the high suspension bridge, we reach to Monjo where we exit the Sagarmatha National Park. Through the beautiful Benkar and past waterfalls, several suspension bridges, unique, busy and interesting villages including the popular ones such as Phakdng, Ghat, Nurning and Chheplung, Mani walls and prayer wheels, we trek up to the hill town of Namche Bazaar. The beautiful and humongous Himalayas overlooking the entire trail acts as the motivation for trekkers; they find the purpose of trekking in the sight of mountains. After reaching Luka, get yourself relaxed and explore the surrounding areas of the hotel, if you are interested. Stay overnight in Lukla.
Today we shall return to the medieval capital city of Kathmandu after an adventurous stay in the Khumbu (Everest) region. Due to the weather-related disturbances during the day, we shall take on the flight that starts early morning from Lukla. Over the vast landscape, lush hills and valleys, perennial rivers and with the sight of glittering Himalayas, the flight of around 35 minutes bring us back to the civilization of Kathmandu valley. You shall be transferred to the hotel of your stay for the much-deserved rest after enduring a rather strenuous trek in the Khumbu region. Later in the evening, you may stroll around in the streets of Thamel and the surrounding areas. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.
Your Everest Base Camp in the beautiful Khumbu region and to the vicinity of Mount Everest comes to an end today. You may go for some last minute souvenir shopping for your near and dear ones in the native place. Extend your trip if you want to try our other packages in this land of adventure at the foothills of Himalayas. You shall be escorted to the Tribhuvan International Airport at least three hours prior to your flight schedule. Our representative shall assist you with your departure. Two tailor-made treks in the Nepal regions "Everest Base Camp Trek & Jungle Safari in Chitwan" We researched many companies to book our EBC trek and after exchanged e-mails with Dipak he helped plan our EBC trek, tour in Kathmandu and Jungle Safari in Chitwan in a professional, helpful and organized manner. On arrival in Kathmandu, we were greeted at the airport with a friendly, warm welcome from Dipak and he helped settle us in at our hotel and took us out for a traditional Nepalese meal as well as organizing a day tour with guide of Kathmandu. Dipak's organization of our EBC trek was wonderful and the guide he supplied on the trek was informative, friendly and very organized in looking after us, making sure we had enough food, tea, and a decent bed for the night after a long day walking. The trek was beautiful and we had an amazing experience. We went back to Kathmandu after the trek was finished and Dipak greeted us and hear about our adventure and keep us informed about our next part of the trip - Jungle Safari in Chitwan. We stayed in Chitwan National Park for 4 nights 3 days and stayed at a lovely lodge by the river just outside the town. We went on Elephant safari, Jungle walks, bird watching, canoeing, traditional evening performance and much needed relaxing after our EBC trek. We had lovely accommodation and by the river and very helpful staff who looked after our every need. It was our first visit to Nepal and Dipak made our trip hassle free, organized and all with a warm welcome which meant we could enjoy our trek to the fullest. I would recommend Dipak and Trekking Planner services and I myself would love to return to complete some Annapurna trekking in the future and will be using Trekking Planner Nepal to do so. Many thanks for such a brilliant holiday of a lifetime! Lauren Connors Visited November 2014
Great - 3 of us left the UK arriving in Kathmandu with great expectations. With hundreds of Trekking companies to choose from we were fortunate to find Trekking Planner Nepal. Great team they all performed way beyond our expectations, fantastic service, nothing was a problem and always happy. If you are heading into Nepal give them a call 5* doesn't seem enough, thank you for great times and memory's
I used the services of this travel agency for my vacation in Nepal. They managed to reach my budget and the result left me very satisfied. I did several tours and the EBC trekking, without any problem. The manager was very attentive and became a friend. They planned a wonderful vacations for me.
From the first email we sent enquiring about a trek with Dipak the service was phenomenal. He could not do enough to help, and went above and beyond on every aspect. He personally met us at the airport and ensured we were checked into our hotel and we're happy with everything (great accommodation and great staff) we booked a mountain flight through him to see Everest and the Himalayas and again he personally met us at the hotel and accompanied us to the airport (at 0500). We trekked to base camp with trekking planner and it was superb, small group (just 3 of us) great personal service from everyone, guides and porters. Stayed in better tea houses than most we met on our trip. Look no further than Trekking Planner, these are your guys for any trek / trip to Nepal. Visited December 2016
We had a great time in Nepal. Trekking Planner team took great care of us from the very beginning to the end! Dipak gives his client really good and personal care, responds quickly and is very accommodating. Our guide Dibash took great care of us on the whole trail. Everything was smooth and we got what we felt best service possible at the time, always best rooms available, we had always complete choice of food available and all information we needed in time! Also huge thanks to our always smiling porters! Thank you for unforgettable experience and good luck in the future! Visited October 2016
Dipak, Narayan, and the guys are just fantastic guides, who know Nepal's trekking regions very well. They will do everything they can to make you trip to Nepal and your trek to the Himalayas unforgettable. Their prices are really good and they treat their porters really well. These guys know their stuff for technical treks and climbs and can organize all travel and accommodation in Nepal and surrounding areas. I cant speak too highly of Dipak and his team.
Before i summarise on the title of this short story, let me first say what a great experience, one in which I shall never forget, thanks mainly to Ganache our guide who made the extra effort to ensure we were well looked after during the daily trek, passing on his knowledge of the surrounding areas and ensuring we were well fed and warm at the lodges. Appreciated the nightly Nepalese game of cards before hitting the sack for some well earned sleep. Regretfully I became quiet ill with pneumonia and unable to continue. Ganache contacted Dipak the Manager of Trekking Nepal whom quickly arranged for a helicopter and ambulance to meet me at Kathmandu airport. Dipak was waiting at the hospital to ensure all formalities were taken care of and showed genuine concern as to my health, this impressed me and was indeed a reflection of how well the company had during the trek taken care of its clients. Dipak came to see me daily asking if there was anything I needed and whilst there would contact my family on his mobile so I could talk to them. This again a true reflection of there business ethics. In summary although I got ill, I would have no hesitation to do this trek again knowing that Dipak and Ganache will perform small miracles should they be required. Thanks Guys!!! (Dhanya badd) See You Again ( Phen Bhetau Laq)

PERSONAL CHALLENGE CHECKED WITH TREKKING PLANNER It's was a personal challenge. Wasn't confident we can ascend Everest Base Camp. So we need an experienced and a trusted tour planner to help us. Mr. Deepak, Owner of Trekking Planner, was the difference. His team is really knowledgeable and helpful - guiding us with useful tips and sharing with us the rich Nepalese history along the climb. Mr. Deepak checked in on our progress frequently. Trekking Planner made the difference! We made it to Everest Base Camp successful - it was lesser tougher than we anticipated :) Thanks Mr. Deepak and Trekking Planner. for the memorable and wonderful experience. COMPANY REVIEW An excellent team which is knowledgeable and experience with Nepal trekking. Mr. Deepak, Owner of Trekking Planner, is a great host who cares for his guests.
Very happy we chose Trekking planner to organize our trip to Everest Base Camp. The whole trip was adjusted to our needs. We had our own guide and felt actually sorry for huge groups we met, because we didn't have to adjust to anyone else. Always got the best rooms - we had our own toilet where others had to share, we had view of mountains while others didn't. Our guide was amazing a helped us with whatever we needed. Definitely would recommend to everyone and hopefully will get to go with Trekking planner to do Annapurna circuit in couple years!
We had a Great holiday with Trekking Planner our trek was Everest base camp. Dipak was great couldn’t do enough for us, Dibash, Our Guide was great, He knew his stuff and was very informative what a great guy to hang out with. Our Porters were also great lads very friendly and worked hard to. I will never forget this trip and I’m sure I will be back to do another soon. Fantastic from start to finish.
The whole Everest basecamp trek experience was fantastic. From Dipak picking us up at Kathmandu airport to dropping us off. It is just a great experience, one I’ll treasure. It's very difficult to describe how the two and a bit weeks trek. The hotel stay in Kathmandu was good. We stayed at Hotel Pilgrims. It was clean amd the staff were all lovely. The breakfast was also of high standard. Trekking Planner's organization, professionalism and friendliness made all the difference to our trip. We didn’t have to worry about the EIMS or any transfers, all was arranged and on time. Both Dipak the company owner and Dibash our guide were caring and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The accommodation was good the whole way up the mountain, the food and drinks options of various different teas were good. I’d recommend the Dal Baht to anyone and the Chow Mein or noodles. Dibash, became friend as well as our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and fun. He made sure we knew exactly what the next day entailed and was always on hand should we need him. We spent most night playing games and cards. I would certainly recommend anyone considering a trip the Himalayas to contact Trekking Planners and speak to them about your requirements. We are already looking at visiting Nepal again and will be using Trekking Planners.
On returning home from my trip to Everest, people ask me "how was it?". I always pause and think: "where do I start? The beautiful forests, the wonderful sounds of yak bells, the things I learnt from my guide...?" . There was so much awesomeness, it's very difficult to convey what happened in the two and a bit weeks I had with Trekking Planner. A good start is Trekking Planner's organization and friendliness. From the very first contact I made with Dipak there was a good tailoring of the trek to our needs. All matters were well explained and no stone left unturned in Trekking Planner's organization. The adjustment of the holiday to our needs was constant throughout, with our guide (Dibash) was able to change our programmed throughout the trek to adapt to all our wishes. He and Dipak acted in a caring and friendly manner throughout the trip. At one point I became ill near the Base Camp, Dibash took excellent care of me in a calm manner ensuring I reached my goal safely. I am extremely appreciative of this mature and high-efficacy treatment. The accommodation was excellent the whole way up the mountain, the food and drinks options were good (and very filling - I now have a new found love for Dal Baht and yak meat!) and there was plenty of opportunity to meet other travelers and have interesting convivial conversation. Our guide, Dibash, became both a friend as well as our guide :) He was extremely knowledgeable about the environment, enlightening us on our trek on stupas, mountain eights, Tibetan culture, and plants. Truly a Renaissance man of the Himalayas! I heartily recommend anyone considering a trip the Himalayas find these guys to get the most memorable experiences out of your time!
Fantastic!!!! We had a Great Honeymoon with Trekking Planner taking us up to Everest base camp. Dipak was great got us everything we needed and arranged everything for us, Couldn't have asked for a greater Guy. Narayan, Our Guide was second to none, He knew the mountains and was very informative what a great guy to hang out with Lakpa our Porter, What a worker, I have never seen someone go up a mountain so fast This trip was the most memorable trip I have been on and I recommend it to everyone!!!!
We arranged the trek to Everest Base Camp with Nepal Trekking Planner and had an amazing trip! Dipak from Nepal Trekking Planner took care of everything. We were met from the airport, taken to hotel for rest then shown around the city by an interesting English speaking guide. We were given an authentic Nepalese meal which was fun too! The touring of Kathmandu was really appreciated and we could not have explored the city without them. Driving in Nepal is insane - but we always felt safe with the drivers they supplied. Then the real fun began! We were introduced in advance to our mountain guide who met us early to drive to the airport to fly to Lukla. As it is a small plane every seat is a window seat. The guide recommended the left side to see the mountains and so we all had incredible views of the Himalayas on the way up. We had a smooth flight with clear skies up to the mountains. In Lukla the guide had already arranged a porter to meet us and carry our bags. While the three in our group all had experience hiking... we were VERY glad we had a porter once we got higher up!! He was amazing - carrying our things ahead of us everyday so that it was in our rooms before we arrived after each days trek. All the Nepalese people were friendly and happy to see visitors. The guide we had was really helpful to pace us and keep us hydrated! He even pulled out snacks for us which was unexpected :) Higher up some of our group got diarrhea and altitude headaches. We were taken care of so well by the guide! Who gave us hydration salts and checked on us regularly when feeling bad. We ended up taking an extra rest day on the way up by his recommendation which was no problem. Nepal Trekking Planner are very flexible with your holiday and make it clear that they can change the plans to suit individual needs etc along the way. Because of the guides great care of us we all made it to Everest Base Camp after 8 days in the mountains. We left early that day and to our surprise we were the first ones to arrive that day! For 30 minutes we had the entire Everest Base Camp to enjoy to ourselves!! It was beautiful being surrounded by such mountains and glaciers. Definitely worth visiting if you can! One member of our group hadn't eaten great on the way up, and actually got worse after we got to Everest Base Camp. The guide was fantastic taking care of him and quickly found out our insurance details and contacted them and a helicopter company along with Dipak back in Kathmandu. We did not need to contact anyone. And a helicopter met us the next morning to take us all the way back to Kathmandu. From there we were taken to the international hospital where we were taken great care of and recovered in hours! Dipak was there and took us back to the hotel once we could leave. He took care of everything and the insurance were happy to pay, with just a small excess. (We used World Nomads). Back in the city early Nepal Trekking Planner ensured we had the hotel booked for all our nights and took care of us while in Kathmandu! They even helped us arrange to go white-water-rafting on our last day :) which we did with our guide which was a fun way to end the trip! We also had another meal with Dipak and the guide as a farewell sendoff. Nepal Trekking Planner were fantastic in arranging our trip to Nepal. We would have been lost without them. We had an amazing time visiting and exploring Kathmandu, the trek from Lukla to Everest Base Camp, and a white water rafting trip a few hours drive from Kathmandu. No matter what happens during your visit Nepal Trekking Planner will take good care of you and ensure you have a great time! I cannot recommend them enough and I will definitely be using them again next time I visit Nepal.
Trekking Planner Nepal had been researched by my friend prior to booking our visit to Kathmandu for our Everest Base Camp Trek in May 2016. The reviews were all very good; however, the proof of the pudding is as they say ‘in the eating’; well, the whole experience was made special by the attention to detail, personal service and a genuine desire by all to make our trip an experience which was memorable and as hassle free as possible. Dipak the owner of Trekking Planner was there personally to meet us at the airport and had made all the arrangements for the hotel and also brought us to our privately booked hotel at the end of our trek for the extra days we were spending in Kathmandu to ‘Chill’ and he even collected us from there to bring us to the airport for our departure. Our Guide Ganesh along with our other parties Guide Narayan were very friendly, experienced, and their intimate knowledge of the the scenery, culture and history ensured a rich and rewarding experience that made you so appreciate the natural wonders and beauty of Nepal which makes me want to return yet again. So, I have ‘eaten the excellent pudding’ and can highly recommend to you -Trekking Planner Nepal with a heart and a half.
Dipak from Nepal Trekking planner truly went out of his way to ensure that our trip was perfect from start to finish, arranging everything from the hotel we stayed in and a tour of some areas in Kathmandu, to a fantastic guide and incredible all round experience through the Himalayas to Everest Base Camp. Dipak and Narayan the trekking guide both are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and skilled at what they do, the experience and service is unparalleled and I really hope to be visiting and using their services again as they made my trip truly special and memorable.
I booked EBC and Kala Patthar trek with Trekking Planner in May/June 2018. Initially the date I wanted to go wasn't available on their site, but when I contacted them they opened up a date that I wanted. It is a small company, I found them to be honest and upfront. I did not feel at any time that they were trying to upsell me anything. They picked me up from the airport when I arrived and then I opted to visit some major landmarks in Kathmandu as I had arrived a day before my actual trek. Unfortunately, the weather was inclement for flights from Kathmandu to Lukla. I spent pretty much the whole day at the Kathmandu airport but the flight never took off. There were people waiting to take the flight from two days prior to me. Next day the same issue, weather was bad. However, later in the afternoon the owner of the company was able to manage to fly me out to Lukla in a chopper which was nice. The guide was a young person in his mid twenties and so was the porter. Guide was fun and responsive to my needs, however I felt the porter needed a little more training and wasn't quite as responsive to your requests. Since, I had already lost a day and I didn't have any buffer day I wanted to finish my trek couple of days earlier to build a buffer to fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla. We skipped a destination on our way up and continued to the next destination. It caused me a bit of an altitude sickness. The guide was on his toes and was constantly monitoring my oxygen levels in blood. Next day my oxygen level came back to normal and we were able to complete the trek. On our way back we hiked straight from the EBC to Namche Bazar and save a day. Sure enough, I got stuck in Lukla one more day because of the bad weather, like many other. But the following day the owner was able to manage for a chopper for me, believe me not there were a lot of desperate people to fly out of Lukla but not everyone was able to fly back like me, immediately. I highly recommend this company. The staff and owner is courteous and they seem to have good network with airline and chopper companies.
This is my feedback as the organizer of the Everest Base Camp Trek for our group. After speaking to a number of trek company’s, one stood out, Trekking Planner. From the beginning, the owner Dipak Lamichhane was very helpful, and answered all my questions and addressed any concerns fully. From the time we were picked up from the airport to the time we were dropped off, our group was treated like we were part of the family. Due to the weather, our flight was cancelled to Luckla airport and even helicopters were not able to take us up. On the third day, when our flight was cancelled again I spoke to Dipak about alternatives and within an hour he had organised a jeep to take us up to Solari from where we could trek up to Everest Base camp the long way around , thereby avoiding flying in to Luckla airport. This meant reorganising our scheduled completely form the route we was taking to the places we were going to stay during the trek which allowed us to get to EBC. “Dipak, from the day we arrived you have looked after and we never had to worry about anything. We knew that the trek was going to be difficult and with your support we were able to achieve our ambitions. Thank you from our team and more importantly a personal thank you from me.” As somebody who responded to the Nepal earthquake in 2015, been up Kilimanjaro twice, I would have no hesitation of recommending Trekking Planner Nepal as the company of choice for your visit to Nepal and Dipak Lamichhane for his personal and honest service provided.
This trekking was well organized, Amazing mountains. And Dibass was a great guide, always caring about my condition and satisfaction! Wonderful experience !!!
Thank you Trekking Planner for planning one of the best holiday I’ve ever had. Thank you and your team for looking after us from the moment you picked us up from the airport. You have gone above and beyond to provide a top service and to meet our demanding needs. And thank you for helping us pick litter on the way down from Base Camp! I don’t tend to go back to the same place twice but I had such an amazing time that I will be coming back and do it all again... but next time for the Everest Marathon and I will definitely be arranging it with you again!
My sister's partner Martin booked TP and we weren't disappointed. From being greeted at the airport then Dipak briefing at our Kathmandu hotel every single avenue was covered right down to the provision of 'bulky stuff' ie kit bag, down jacket & sleeping bag. Our guide Dorje was absolutely brilliant himself having reached the summit of Everest three times! His knowledge was invaluable from booking tea houses to obtaining National Park permits. Our young porter Budda ... how do they carry all that stuff!!?? Thanks Dipak for fulfilling one of life's dreams ... at 63 I think that may be my last 'great climb' and it helped raise £2500 for a local Hospice. Great value for money as well ... would definitely recommend Trekking Planner, Steve Waltho MBE
I’ve just come back from an amazing trek organized by Trekking Planner. I was in a party of seven all the intention of reaching Everest base camp. Dipak, the owner, and Nirmal, our guide, looked after us and organized the food and accommodation and Nirmal made sure we all coped with the increasing altitude en route. All we had to do was enjoy the views and concentrate on walking. Thank you again for a once-in-a-lifetime amazing adventure.
Very good trek, Dipak ,gelyen and the crew is amazing ! would recommend this trek to anybody that wants adventure .
We had a great time on our trek. Everything was well planned. Our guide Gyeljan and porter Ngawang was really sweet and did an excellent job. They were super funny so even the hardest part of the trek felt alright. I warmly recommend everyone this company and especially these guys. Thank you so much.
My wife and I went with Trekking Planner for our Everest Base Camp trek. If you’re thinking about trekking in Nepal, you can’t go wrong with Trekking Planner. Fantastic company! Even before we went, making contact was quick and easy. Dipak, the boss, contacted us via email and WhatsApp; which allowed us to chat freely at any time. He was very responsive to any queries, which made planning the trip much easier (e.g. what would happen on the ground in Nepal, what we needed or didn’t need, etc). He also personally met with us each day we were in Kathmandu to ensure any needs were met. All trekking planner staff were friendly and helpful and one of them, Suman, helped us out with getting final supplies, groceries, SIM card, etc around town. On the trek, our guide, Ananta, was awesome; knowledgeable about the route and himself passionate about trekking. He was not interested in simply paying lip service and more invested in making sure we had a safe and maximally fulfilling experience. He listened to what we wanted to get out of the trip and was very honest about what was or wasn’t possible according to weather and our own pace. In the end, he managed to get two city dwellers with average fitness, zero experience of high altitude, and zero training... in the middle of winter, through snowstorm and high winds... all the way to Everest Base Camp and back! Along the way, we had laughs, breathtaking moments of natural beauty, and even learned how to sing a Nepali song. Special mention to our porter who took the initiative to double back and look for us once when the snow and wind got real bad, and then stuck with us to ensure our safety. (Porters often don’t travel alongside small groups, and will push on ahead so they get to the next location first and have your stuff waiting for you). Highly recommend these guys for any trekking journey or little tours around Nepal, not just for EBC. We also had a couple of days in Chitwan for a fun safari. Our Kathmandu day tour guide, Sudendra, was also particularly good and made the city’s cultural tourist attractions really come to life. As a real special treat, we even got invited to one of Nepal’s “Party Palaces” for a celebration for Dipak’s own son and daughter. That was a fantastic way to glimpse some real local custom and culture! In future, we may return to Nepal to try a different trekking route; and if we do, we will definitely be contacting Dipak and Ananta again.
We have just returned home to Zimbabwe from our Everest Base Camp trek arranged by Dipak the owner of Trekking Planner. What an amazing experience! The weather is very unpredictable in Nepal and sometimes plans need to be adjusted. Dipak organized a helicopter and rearranged return flight with the minimum of fuss and inconvenience. Our guide Ananta was excellent and did a great job of getting us to Base Camp and back. We were all out of our comfort zone but he looked after us superbly and made our trip an adventure of a lifetime. I highly recommend Dipak and Trekking Planner for their attention to detail and personal service. Really nice people to deal with.
We have just returned from Nepal and a truly unforgettable trek to Everest base camp. My friend Dipak, owner of Trekking Planner was amazing and I recommend his company to anyone who is considering doing this trip. Everything promised was delivered and even when all planes were grounded on day one he made a plan to get us back on schedule, sometimes it's who you know and Dipak knows everyone. Loved the entire experience ans will definitely go back one day.
One of the most organized & reliable trek agency in the business . Amazing service from the staffs & guides throughout the trek . This is a must go trek for all mountain lovers & hikers out there , felt like a different world with the mountains , scenic beauties , the beautiful landscapes & the panoramic view of the mountains , the religions , cultures , lifestyles coexisting & creating a wonderful & adventurous environment . The people were happy & helpful there . The food is absolutely delicious & drinks are organic & help reduce body ache & tiredness from hiking Aside from shopping around, if you arrive in Namche Bazaar during the weekend, you might catch the Sherpa Market where locals from surrounding villages come and trade local goods. Apart from this, we also recommend going to Liquid Bar where they project daily movie screenings as well as checking out the many coffee shops around Namche. Altitude sickness, also known as AMS (Acute Mountain Syndrome) is one of the major challenges that most trekkers face. In fact, throughout our trek, every day, we would see at least 2-3 helicopter evacuations from people who needed immediate care. Symptoms of AMS: Dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, headaches, difficulty sleeping, vomiting. The only real cure for altitude sickness is to go lower, giving your body time to adjust and recover. The incredible scenery, the people we met along the way, and the challenge of conquering the cold and the trails is something that we will always remember. Brought together by a love for travel and adventure, throughout our trek, we saw a variety of people from all walks of life try out their luck as they conquer one of the most iconic and beautiful treks in the world.
Adventure of a Lifetime with your new Nepali friends! I cannot praise Nepal Trekking Planner enough! My husband and I trekked with NTP this past April and had the time of our lives. I looked at countless different tour companies over the course of 2 years, but NTP was the only company who (1) consistently kept in contact with me, (2) provided me with thorough updates, and (3) were eager to host us in Nepal. Being local to Kathmandu, it was nice to work with a locally based company who knows the area so well and can tailor a trip to meet your needs. We flew to Kathmandu and began our trek the following day. As there can often be issues with the domestic flights in Nepal, Dipak, owner of NTP, went above and beyond to get us on a plane and out to the Khumbu. We are so grateful for his assistance on that! We flew out to Lukla and met our guide, Gyeljan, our porter, Nawang, and even the other guide, Suman. All three were beyond incredible. I would only ever recommend working with these three. They were all attentive to our needs, making sure we were acclimatizing well and comfortable everywhere we went. My husband got a little sick on the ascension to Namche, but thanks to Gyeljan and his recommendations (garlic soup, lemon ginger tea, and a shower), he was as good as new. Gyeljan was the best guide we could have ever hoped for. His knowledge of the area was completely on a different level. He was so natural in the mountains and made us feel at home on the other side of the world. Nawang, our porter, was so kind and wonderful to work with. We can’t recommend them enough! Suman was also great, though he was not our primary guide. We stayed at teahouses with him and his client’s porter and truly came to love him. Suman is a ball of energy and very positive. He was great to work with and a real treat on the trek. He can certainly make you laugh as well! Another thing I would like to praise NTP for is assisting with some tour costs malfunctions. As we sent a wire to NTP for the tour, the wire was not received correctly in time for our trek, so my husband and I had to pay for the tours again essentially. We were out several thousands of dollar, some of it in limbo, not sure where it was. BUT NTP was absolutely extraordinary. With the help of Dipak, we were able to find the missing funds and have them sent back to us in a timely manner. We are beyond grateful for his help and making sure our missing money was returned to us. I don’t know how often you come across such honest and hard-working individuals, but we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you are interested in going to Nepal, trekking, sightseeing, or challenging yourself to get to the Mount Everest Base Camp – then go with Nepal Trekking Planner. I thought this trip was a once-in-a-lifetime sort of thing, but based off my experience with NTP, I hope to soon go back and do more treks with them. Thank you again, NTP!
We did this Trek in April 2019. Overall experience is very positive. We enjoyed Himalayan mountains and the culture. Our group was quite small - 4 people which was good because small groups are more flexible compared to large one. We had a very good relationship with the tour guide. He was very friendly and always talked a lot about the culture and life in Nepal. I am considering to come back next year and book again with the company.
Just writing a review as I know how important it is for the team, did the trek and was well looked after by everyone in the team and had a great time, the only downside were the clouds but I can only blame my own karma for that! My guide was Nirmal and he was great. Very charismatic and funny, he takes great pride in his work and I wish him all the best in the future!
We just finished an amazing trek to Everest Base Camp! We were also supposed to go to Gokyo Lakes, but I unfortunately got altitude sickness and needed to descend early. Sudip helped me carry my pack when I couldn’t carry it myself, and took excellent care of me when I was feeling well. He helped us figure out a new itinerary for our remaining days and taught us a lot of Nepali words and even some new dance moves. Even though our trip didn’t go exactly as hoped, we still had so much fun on our trek. I am sad to be leaving Nepal and hope I can come back for another trek with Trekking Planner and Sudip soon!
I had no idea how hard this trek would be for me mentally and emotionally. I am physically fit from the cascade mountains, but living out of a bag in group life, crowded trails and teahouses with folks one doesn't know is hard for an introvert used to lots of alone time. Our guides, Nirmal and Roshan, made sure I was OK. Nirmal had lots of jokes, games and cultural sayings to keep our group going. He has endless enthusiasm, energy and an incredibly patient and kind spirit. When we didn't want to eat he made sure we ate anyway. When we wanted to cry he made us laugh. I had to descend at from Loboche due to AMS and Nirmal made sure Roshan took me to a quiet lodge. These guides are top-notch, the best you will find in Nepal, or perhaps anywhere in the world. I am indebted to our porters as well for their hard work. Please consider Trekking planner and Nirmal in particular if you want to see Nepal on foot.
I recently completed a trek to Everest Base camp with Trekking planner. Was supposed to do the high passes but fell ill with slight altitude sickness but I still managed to get to Gokyo though to see the lakes. Dipak did a great job organising everything. My guide Suraj and porter Anish were great. They took care of me when I wasn't well and adjusted the itinerary accordingly. Had a great experience! The mountains and the views are truly magical. Highly recommend booking a tour/trek with Dipak and his team
Just finished the EBC trip with Trekking Planner. Brilliant service from Prajol in Kathmandu who covered my every need with cheerfulness. My guide on the trek, Sudip, was excellent throughout ensuring I made it to Kala Pattar despite a severe headache. He was great fun and was ably supported by Damact (?) as my porter. All in all I really aprecated the service from Dipak and his team and recommend them wholeheartedly.
Everest Base Camp is such an amazing trek, but to have the best, kindest and funniest guide, who encouraged our team all the way and back, made my trek extra special. Nirmal Lamichhane your knowledge of all the mountains are incredible and you knew everyone on the trek. Watching you interact with the rest of the guides, they clearly have great respect for you. You are a natural leader. You are ambitious and know where you want to be in the future and I applaud you for studying while doing treks and taking people up into the mountains. I enjoyed your stories and games along the way especially the last 2 hours before reaching Namche when it was up, up and up (your way of saying it is very steep). When I fell ill and gotten worse you were there all the way alongside me to help and encourage. The morning after reaching Base Camp when I was faced with being evacuated from Gorakshep, you told me that you believe that I could finish the trek and you would be there all the way if I choose to do so. Seeing the helicopter leave was hard but you believed in me and it made all the difference. Thank you so much. Nirmal carried my bag on our decent in order for me to be able to breath better (I had bad flue, borderline bronchitis). Out of his own pocket, he bought us Fanta, lollypops, gum .... anything to lift moral on the last day down to Lukla. Our group had such fun with Nirmal. If ever you need a guide, Nirmal is the perfect man for your trek. He does varies treks into the mountains, not only to Base Camp. Mountain expert, clued-up with flights to/ from Lukla, knows everyone and teahouses, can help with last minute gear, great knowledge about altitude sickness and knows how to take great photos (and how to pose, lol). TrakkingPlanner and Travel Her Way are very lucky to have Nirmal as a guide. The organising of my trip was great. Before leaving the UK, all my emails were answered promptly. Collecting from the airport, great accommodation in Kathmandu and the tea houses we stayed at on our trek was great. We were taken to a welcoming dinner at a local Nepali restaurant. What an experience. They also arrange for a farewell dinner back in Kathmandu - all included in the price. The care and detail was appreciated. Fruit and biscuits at dinner while on the trek- and the guides carried all of it all the way. Taking our oxygen levels after every meal to make sure we were in great shape. All in all I had the best experience! Thank you Trekking Planner.
This company goes above and beyond! They think of every detail and take care of all the trekking needs including accommodations, food, water tablets, medical emergencies, etc. Our guide Nirmal was extremely familiar with the trail, he was attentive - making sure everyone was taken care of, made us laugh the entire way, gave great advice/tips/recommendations for a successful trek, generous (carried some of the day packs up when they were feeling tired), encouraged us and more! I was so impressed with how well thought out everything was and I loved that I didn’t have to worry about the details and all I had to do was show up. The other guides and porters were all just as fun, thoughtful, and accommodating. I would highly recommended these guys for the EBC trek!
What an amazing trip and great guides-Nirmal and Suraj! Awesome trekking company, very professional and especially Dipak's attentiveness was above and beyond! Everything was on point and well organized! EBC was the first of many trips to come for me with Trekking Planner. I am coming back in April for another destination and hopefully again next year!!! Thank you for everything!
Based on location, the tea houses vary on their quality and style on this trek. Each of them have communal room downstairs with one or two bed bedrooms above them. You have to share toilet facilities. Some have hot shower facilities but some will have a stand pipe. Tea houses use a burning stove in main communal area. The other rooms are unheated. Tea houses do not have money exchange facilities. We recommend you exchange cash in Kathmandu.
At the lower altitudes there is electricity to charge your electronics. As we go higher tea houses become more basic. Cooler temperatures drain battery life, ensure your batteries last a little longer by putting it inside pocket of your coat during the day or under your pillow at night.
No, as there is enough time to acclimatize while trekking it felt there is no need for them. If someone feels the affects of altitude then there are facilities along the trek at various points and it’s easy to get.
A group will have a group leader or a guide who will lead you on the trek. Porters will be there to carry your baggage packs as well as all camping gear. One porter will carry two trekkers’ bags. The number of supporting staff will depend upon your group size.
At most, 3-4 liters is sufficient. You will be able to refill bottles at lunch time. When you are at high altitude you have to drink more water to alleviate symptoms of altitude.
Yes, trekking poles make you easy to walk over rough or steep terrain. Trekking poles makes your body and leg to move more safely. Furthermore, it will help relieve the stress on your legs. So, we suggest you use them.
Tea houses and other small shops on the way have stores which sell bottled water and other supplies you may desire. There are no any plastic recycling facilities in Nepal, we encourage you to bring chlorine tablets or a filter and use previously boiled water in the tea houses. Please consider not adding to the plastic waste problem in Nepal.
You have to bring iodine tablets with you. Chlorine tablets are widely available. The most effective and commonly used version of chlorine is chlorine dioxide, which is tasteless and odorless. Tablets can be bought cheaply and usually 1 tablet is sufficient to purify 1 liter of water. Neutralizing tablets can also be bought to get rid of the smell and taste of chlorine or iodine. This will need to be done for water obtained using hand pumps or in streams during the trek.
Altitude produces physical changes in the body. The higher you go, more pronounced those changes. If you gain a lot of elevation quickly then you experience dizziness, nausea, headaches, and dehydration, you are probably suffering from altitude sickness. In rare cases this may worsen, so the group leader keeps a close watch on all trekkers. The group leader is trained to recognize Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). If a trekker shows any signs of AMS they will be evacuated to a lower, safe altitude immediately. To minimize effects of altitude you ascend slowly which allows for safe acclimatization.
It depends on the nature of your illness. If you suddenly feel dizzy or weak, you have to sit or lie down. If you still feel sick, keep a warm and rest until you can get medical help. You will be carried down or evacuated if you do not start to feel better. Although we provide a first aid kit, we advise travelers to take a personal first aid kit too.
In serious cases, you may need helicopter rescue. Our guide will suggest you use it if your condition is very serious. Therefore, helicopter rescue insurance is necessary for every trekker before you come to trek with Trekking Planner.
Yes. The weather is changeable in the Himalaya so you should expect to experience all four seasons in one day. Make sure you have plenty of warm layers which you can shed or add as required. Even in winter, it can be as warm as 19C during the day. The higher the altitude the higher the temperature difference is at night. It can get very cold at night, around -10C in October/November, and around -20C from December to February.
Alcohol is consumed in Nepal. You can buy it in tea houses in the trek. Local alcohol is also available. However, we suggest not to drink alcohol at a high altitude.
Nepal is our home and we believe in minimizing the impact of tourism in our mountains. We do not encourage the use of plastic bottles, littering, or trashing towns or trails. We expect that you uphold those same values. Please dispose of your waste properly in bins provided and try your best not to rely on disposable plastic bottles. Instead, opt to bring your own filtration system with a re-usable water bottle.
