Best Season for Kathmandu Heritage Tour.

Nepal for all seasons, however, the best time in spring, autumn, and winter seasons, is for this type of leisure tour. Spring starts from March to May and autumn/fall from September to November and winter begins from December to February. The most favorable time is spring and autumn seasons, during spring clear day with longer sunlight hours. Cold in the late afternoon, night, and morning time, days are pleasant for a pleasant tour. Autumn is another best season when days a clear for views and tours, much cold in the morning, late afternoon, and nighttime with short sunlight hours.

The winter season is also a good time for a tour, where days are clear with blue sky but can be very cold morning and nighttime with short sunlight.

    05:00 am/05:30 am Receive from hotel, transfer to airport

    • Flight from Kathmandu to the mountain around 06:30 am about 1 hrs flight
    • Once you fly over 25000 ft you will be able to see all the mountain range of Nepal including Mt Everest.
    • Fly back to Kathmandu
    • Receive from the airport and transfer to hotel.

    Morning approx. 10:00 a.m. departure from the hotel for a short drive in the heart of Kathmandu city, and then a short walk to Kathmandu Durbar Square.

    • The Kathmandu Durbar Square or Palace Courtyard teemed with historical and religious ancient beautiful pagoda-styled monuments. This exciting area is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites, where some of the building was destroyed during the 2015 earthquake. However, renovation is taking place.
    • The tour takes you to the following interesting places, the Residence of Living Goddess (Kumari Ghar), known as the Temple of Kumari, and the beautiful quadrangle court with a Buddhist stupa in the center.
    • The residential quarters, located above the courtyard where the Chaste Virgin Living Goddess called KUMARI resides, a magnificent carved wooden balconies and window screens on this traditional building.

    11: 00 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. drive to Pashupatinath temple a less-than-hour tour

    • After a wonderful tour of old Durbar Square, walk to the car park and drive east from the city to reach the holy Hindu temple of Pashupatinath a marvelous three-tier golden pagoda rooftop, the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
    • Non-Hindu is not allowed to enter the main temple premises, however, a guide will take you to a nice spot. Where you can catch a view of the temple and religious activities of pilgrims and devotees, on the opposite of Bagmati River.
    • The temple flooded with pilgrims on the day of ‘Shiva-Ratri’. (Birth anniversary of Lord Shiva).

    12: 00 p.m. or 12:30 a.m. Drive to Bouddhanath Stupa for an hour tour

    • From Pashupatinath temple, a short drive to reach a beautiful complex at Bouddhanath huge Stupa.
    • Listed in World Heritage Sites and as well the largest Buddhist shrine and Stupa in South Asia.
    • For Buddhists, it is called a Chorten which was built in the 6th century A.D. by King Man Deb. Perched on three tiers terraces, when seen from above or with a bird eye view takes a relevant shape of a lotus flower.
    • A sacred monument for Buddhist followers this huge Stupa is encircled by prayer wheels and a colorful market, also known as small Tibet due to local who lives around the area of Tibetan origin and with similar culture.
    • The most interesting is Lord Buddha's eyes on four cardinal directions that give a vivid flash around four cardinal directions, the area around many Mahayana Buddhism faith monasteries.

    1: 00 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. Lunch break at a nice restaurant around Bouddhanath

    • Enjoying, pleasant and interesting time, the guide will take you to a nice restaurant within the Bouddhanath complex. Where you can enjoy lunch with the backdrop of Bouddhanath Stupa.

    2: 00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Drive to Swambhunath Stupa for an hour tour.

    • Bouddhanath Stupa, drive takes you to a wonderful site at Swambhunath Stupa perched on a hillock surrounded by green forest where many Rhesus monkey dwells, and thus the name Monkey Temple.

    2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. At Swayambhunath Stupa for an hour visit.

    • Swambhunath Stupa dates back as far as 460 A.D. and stands above Kathmandu west of the valley and city rim, a famous landmark of the country. Enjoy grand views of Kathmandu city and the valley with snow peaks in the north.
    • Swayambhunath and the Stupa with fascinating mystical eyes of Lord Buddha on the four cardinals, visit the monastery with the largest image of Sakyamuni Buddha, behind the hill a small temple dedicated to Lord Manjushree the patron god of Kathmandu valley.
    • Who drained the lake with a mighty sword and made the valley possible for people to settle on the fertile land.

    3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.: End of the tour and back at the hotel.
