How does the Honeymoon Tour in Nepal start and end?

The magnificent 12-day Honeymoon Tour in Nepal is intended to provide the couples who take it with priceless memories. The story starts as the pair lands in Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, a busy metropolis.

The first few days are spent in the spiritual and culturally rich city of Kathmandu. The duo visits historic temples, peruses enticing historical and architectural treasures, and meanders through vibrant marketplaces. They will also get the chance to explore the quaint plaza of Bhaktapur, another important city in the past.

The visit to Nagarkot, a 2,100-meter-high hill station, is the highlight of this section of the voyage. They will be able to see the magnificent dawn over the Himalayan peaks from this location, which will turn the mountains into a golden glow. This will undoubtedly rank among the most unforgettable parts of the journey.

The couple's journey eventually takes them to Chitwan National Park, which is well-known for its wide variety of wildlife. A unique viewpoint of the park's vast biodiversity is provided by the couple's elephant-back or jeep wildlife tour, which includes views of one-horn rhinoceroses, Bengal tigers, and a variety of bird species. Additionally, they will get to see a Tharu native village and get a taste of this area's indigenous culture.

After there, the journey goes on to Pokhara, a calm city at an elevation of 860 meters. The beautiful Annapurna Himalayan Peaks encircle this charming city, providing a breathtaking backdrop. It's the perfect place for romantic times because the pair may spend lazy afternoons gazing at the gorgeous mountains and Phewa Lake. The trekking portion of the journey introduces the couple to the cultural and natural treasures of the Annapurna Region. They will trek through charming villages, such as Dhampus, Tolka, and Ghandruk. Here, they can experience the warmth of the Gurung community, explore the unique culture of the region, and enjoy the surrounding landscapes. Similarly, they get a day to themselves in Ghandruk to explore and recuperate, where they may unwind and enjoy the charm of this sizable Gurung community.

A return to Kathmandu marks the journey's conclusion, allowing the pair to cherish their final travel moments. Two options are available to them: a leisurely drive back to the capital or a quick scenic flight. Their amazing honeymoon journey comes to an end when they depart from Kathmandu internationally.

After breakfast, your own vehicle will transport you from the hotel for a picturesque ride to Bhaktapur, a UNESCO World Heritage city and one of the finest-preserved medieval cities in Nepal, a living museum of Newari architecture and culture. Nicknamed the "City of Devotees," Bhaktapur is a city packed with centuries-old temples, traditional homes, and craftsmen preserving ancient arts.

Begin your guided tour at Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a World Heritage Site which testifies to the grandeur of the Malla dynasty. The square consists of some of Nepal's finest monuments:

        • 55-Window Palace: The old royal palace of Bhaktapur monarchs, famous for its balcony defined by fifty-five finely carved wooden windows—a marvel of traditional Newari woodcarvings.
        • Golden Gate (Sun Dhoka): A beautifully gilded gateway leading to the central courtyard of the historic palace, epitomizing exquisite metalwork.

Following a walk around the central square, promenade along Bhaktapur's narrow, cobbled streets, each turn revealing vistas of old-time life–potters shaping clay on whirling wheels, woodcutters cutting wood, and women sun-drying grains in courtyard settings. Make a point of sampling Ju Ju Dhau, the famous "King of Curds," a delicious local yogurt product made in Bhaktapur.

Lunch at a top-floor restaurant in the area, with a view over the red-brick roofs and temples of old.

In the afternoon, head to Nagarkot Hill Station (2,175m), a peaceful hilltop village renowned for its breathtaking Himalayan scenery. On a clear day, you can spot mountains like Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Range, and even distant Mount Everest. Check into your hotel and take a leisurely evening walk to enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings and observe the sunset over the Himalayas. After the sunset view, settle in the accommodation option, and have dinner. Then, refresh and go to bed. Stay overnight in Nagarkot.

At sunrise, watch the sky change from rich purple to hues of gold and crimson, illuminating the mighty Himalayan peaks. On a clear morning, you can see a wide range that includes Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Rolwaling Range, and even distant images of Mount Everest. The peaceful environment and clean mountain air make it a truly magical start to your day. After the sunrise view, enjoy a delicious breakfast. After breakfast, pack your bag and head to the Trishuli River for rafting. The drive to the Trishuli River rafting point will take about three to four hours, depending on the road conditions. The drive will cover 108 kilometers, transitioning from the urban city of Kathmandu to more rural, traditional villages.

Once you reach the rafting put-in point, most likely in Charaudi or Fisol, you will meet the professional rafting team. Then, the rafting guide will give you a comprehensive safety briefing. After the briefing, you will gear up with a helmet, a life jacket, a paddle, and other gear. Then, as a team, you will practice some basic strokes. Later, you will begin with the real Trishuli River Rafting fun, which is known for its class II-III+ + rapids. You can experience sudden drops, splashing water, and fast turns.

With a quality rafting time, you will settle into an accommodation resort. Then, you can have dinner. After dinner, rest and spend the night in Trishuli.

After breakfast, morning travel by private coach or in tourist bus (depending upon the size of the group) with an exciting overland drive on the central Kathmandu to Chitwan highway, leading through Himalayan foothills, on reaching Tadi Bazaar at Chitwan, where a short drive leads you to your respective hotels within a place called Sauraha.

You can see the landscape change from the urban city of Kathmandu to more rural areas with traditional villages. Along the highway, you will see various terraced farmlands, waterfalls, and small towns that welcome you to Chitwan. You can have lunch at a suitable place along the highway.

As you approach Chitwan, you will drive towards Sauraha, which is the entry stop to Chitwan

National Park. Upon reaching Sauraha, settle in an accommodation option and have dinner. Stay overnight in Chitwan.

Today, wake up, refresh, and have breakfast in Chitwan. Then, pack your bags and head towards Chitwan National Park for exploration. You will begin the Jungle safari on a private jeep or elephant back. The tour lasts about 30 minutes, and you will head deep into the forest in search of exotic wildlife. Be sure to look out for one-horned rhino, Bengal tiger, Musk deer, Antelope, Crocodiles, and others. You can click plenty of photos and enjoy the natural scenery.

After the jungle safari, you can visit the Elephant Breeding Center in Sauraha. You can see live actions taken to preserve and protect the land animals. The breeding center aims to protect wildlife and raise awareness of its importance. Afterwards, you can engage in various activities inside the national park, including Jungle walks, canoeing in the Rapti River, Elephant bathing, and others.

Later in the evening, you will visit a Tharu village and participate in a Tharu cultural program. Here you will witness Tharu dance and taste Tharu food. You can also visit the Tharu Cultural Museum to learn more about the local culture, traditions, and history.

After your quality time in Chitwan, return to your hotel, rest, and spend the night in Chitwan.

After you wake up, you will have a fulfilling breakfast at your Trishuli rafting resort. Alternatively, you can take a packed breakfast, depending on your choice. Once you are ready to leave, your trip guide will pick you up and transfer you to a scenic drive to the lakeside city of Pokhara. You will drive along the riverside road, watching the views of waterfalls, hilly landscapes, and traditional villages.

Once you arrive in Pokhara, you will be transferred to a hotel for check-in. After check-in, relax for a bit, and commence your Pokhara sightseeing Tour. The tour will include a visit to the following places:

                • Lakeside Pokhara: Phewa Lake is the second-largest lake in Nepal, which is popular for boating. Across the lake, on an island, lies the Tal Barahi temple. The lakeside area is a vibrant space with restaurants and pubs. It is also a good place for walking and peace.
                • Tal Barahi Temple: It is located in the center of Phewa Lake and is dedicated to the boar manifestation of Ajima. The temple is two-storied and represents the protester deity of female force. You can see pilgrims carrying male animals and fowls across the lake for sacrifice.
                • Bindabasini Temple: Located in the old part of Pokhara Bazaar, it is the oldest Hindu temple of Pokhara. You can seek blessings and offer offerings at the temple devoted to Goddess Bindhyabasini, regarded as an incarnation of Goddess Kali. It is believed that the central part of the goddess was brought from India.
                • Devi's Fall: It is a waterfall that forms a 500-foot-long underground tunnel before disappearing. The name is dedicated to a Swiss woman who lost her life while swimming there. The Davis fall area is beautifully landscaped and caters to tourists. The garden around the waterfall is perfect for spending quality time and taking photographs.
                • Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave: It is a large limestone cave that has a statue of the Hindu God Shiva. The limestone cave features an underground waterfall, suggesting that water from the Devi's fall flows beneath it. The waterfall running down a small pool is one of the highlights of the Gupteshwor cave. Other than that, the cave has a large Shiva lingam at its entrance.
                • World Peace Stupa: It is a white, dome-shaped hilltop stupa located in Anadu Hill. The stupa symbolizes purity and offers a stunning view of Annapurna and Pokhara. The World Peace Stupa features four images of the Buddha, each facing a different direction. The peace pagoda has several trekking trails that cross Phewa Lake, or one can cycle along tracks to the top of the hill. Reaching the hilltop can be part of a blissful silence and cool breeze. You can meditate or interact with the local monks.
                • Pumdikot: It consists of a 51-foot-tall Shiva statue, which has religious significance. The Shiva statue is seated, with the right hand raised in a gesture of blessing. The left hand holds a Trishul, which symbolizes the power to destroy for balance. There are 108 stone-paved steps to reach the top of the Shiva statue.

You can have lunch at any suitable spot between the Pokhara tour. As the tour concludes, the vehicle will drop you off at your hotel. Later in the evening, have dinner, and you can go out to buy some souvenirs or grab a few drinks. You can stroll around and enjoy Pokhara's nightlife. Then, return to the hotel and rest. Spend overnight in Pokhara.

Morning after a hearty breakfast, depart from the hotel for a short drive to the outskirts of Pokhara and its scenic valley, offering tremendous views of the Annapurna peaks, including majestic Machhapuchare Himal, the famous Fish-Tail.

A slow drive takes you uphill through rural farm villages to reach a ridge-top at Dhampus, a lovely farm village populated by Gurung people, the prominent hill tribe of Nepal, and the Mid-West Himalaya.

Enjoy a grand panorama from Dhampus as our walk begins with a gradual path into the cool shade of the forest, offering constant views of snow-peaks, with a slow climb to the lovely village of Potana, where the air gets cooler from here on.

The walk takes you into a lovely, serene forest lined with oaks, rhododendrons, and pines to reach Deurali hilltop at 2,050 m, the highest point of the trek after Nagarkot.

From here, enjoying the surrounding panorama of Himalayan peaks, descend to a small farm area and then on a winding trail, with a few short ups and downs, to reach the overnight stop at Tolka village. A lovely town with grand close views of Annapurna South and Huichuli peaks, with time in the afternoon to explore around this friendly farm village. Later, settle into an accommodation option and have dinner. After dinner, relax and spend the night in Tolka.

After breakfast, get ready to leave Tolka and head towards Ghandruk via Landruk. Ghandruk is one of the largest Gurung villages in the area and is also the gateway to many exciting treks and adventures in the Annapurna Himalaya. Perfect Planners for the Solo Traveler, Groups, or the Honeymooners..

I am a writer for several travel magazines around the globle and I happened upon Dipak and his small trekking company while on a writing assignment in Nepal. I was extremely impressed in his services so decided to write about him. This is what I wrote for several publications......

Our tribute this week honors a Nepalese gentleman by the name of Dipak Lamichhane-Executive Team Leader and founder of Nepal Trekking Planner. A small family company of qualified and very experienced guides who plan and conduct personalized tours for people wishing to Trek the Himalayan region. Dipak’s aim is to make each guest’s trip personal, meaningful and authentic. So if it’s a route that is slow, short & easy or something that is a little more tough & challenging, Dipak & his team have just the trek for you and your friends. He makes tailor-made trips for the single traveler or for groups of any size. He and his company have a motto “The Planner of Your Holiday” and this is just what he does. He plans itineraries that are not only limited to trekking but will include other activities such as water rafting, biking, sight-seeing, village walks, hang-gliding, cruising, mountaineering, and much more.

Nepal is one of the most beautiful countries in the world for an adventure holiday, a family vacation or a honeymoon stay. It has some of the best trekking routes in the world and Dipak is well known for his advice & suggestions as to what type of trek is best suited for you and your party.

The cost of trekking depends on the particular activities you & your party want to participate in and the route you plan to take and the type of accommodation you plan to use along the way. Nepal Trekking Planner can also organize itineraries to neighboring countries such as Bhutan & Tibet. For the cost of such trips or for the cost of any itinerary, Dipak will gladly supply you with this. Contact him at ([email protected]) or if you are in Kathmandu, give him a call at 0977-1-441-0329. The Royal Bengal Tigers & One Horned Rhinoceros are just a couple of animals that you may see while on an elephant safaris in the Chitwan National Park.
