Ganesh Himal base camp trekking, a wonderful place to visit away from human settlement and villages for some days in close harmony of mountain wilderness. One of less ventured region of North Mid-West by trekkers and adventurer, although not far from the capital Kathmandu at a mere 65 km crow fly distance and yet remote, isolated country.
Ganesh Himal massive bulk of peaks can be seen from Kathmandu on a clear fine day, towards northwest direction close to Manaslu Himalaya in the west with Langtang Himal towards the east.

Where’s the most common name is the Hindu word Ganesh, a depicted form of an elephant as the South Face of Pabil Himal (Ganesh IV) ridge that appears the shape of an elephant’s trunk hence the name Ganesh Himal.
Adventure to Ganesh Himal base camp trekking involves exciting drive both ways before and after ending the walks, at first journey takes you towards north-west around Nuwakott district and warm area at Trisuli Bazaar, a busy town and main hub of hill villagers.
In the beginning, the walk takes you through several nice farm villages where you can witness the local immense culture of both Hinduism and Buddhism religions, as the adventure continues leaving the last small farm village of Chalise towards remote mountainous areas of massive bulk Ganesh Himal.
A lovely walk into dense coniferous forest of tall rhododendron, pines, oaks and fir trees with some bamboo stalks, which makes an excellent habitation for mountain wild-animals and birdlife.
The green deep woods around Langtang and Ganesh Himal, where endangered and elusive Red Panda dwells, often seen by trekkers on walks to Ganesh Himal base camp and Ruby valley areas.
After days of exciting walks finally reach the main highlight of the adventure in the heart of massif Ganesh Himal at Base Camp, that towers high above you with icy ponds of Kalo and Seto Kunds.
The color of the pond with black and white due to lime and chalk minerals of rocks mixed form of glacier, and the black due to heavy shade away from sunlight and falling of black rocks.
Enjoying marvelous moments around Ganesh Himal base camp, return journey takes you back into dense forest and Kharka (cattle herder’s shelters) to reach farm village, and back into human civilization.
Starting the adventure from the Nuwakott area and ending at the Gorkha district in a farm town of Arughat, which also falls on the trekking route to Manaslu and Tsum Valley. Best Season for Ganesh Himal Base Camp Trekking:
The best time for Ganesh Himal base camp trek during the spring season from March to May, when days are clear most of the month’s chances of light rain and snow sometimes in the late afternoon.
Cold in the morning and night time, but very scenic with wild-flowers in seasonal bloom especially tall trees to bush rhododendron, magnolia, and other bright flowers.
Day is clear for grand views of snow peaks and with much longer sunlight hours during the spring season.
Next best season is autumn/fall to pre-winter from the middle month of September to early December, although much colder morning and evening time, with short sunlight hours due to autumn and near winter.
But most days are bright and clear for mountain views and walks with the bright starry night sky, chances of snow on higher areas sometimes.

Visa:
Visiting Nepal one can obtain entry visas from your home country at Nepalese Embassies and Consulates, if not one can easily get a visa on arrival at Nepal international airport in Kathmandu, or any port of entry.
Emergency Contact:
For travel within Nepal Himalaya where all travelers and adventurers require to fill our company form with emergency contact to relatives and families or close friends, as well keeping in close touch with the Trekking Planner for immediate helps either medical or unforeseen reasons.
Arrival:
On arrival picked and received by our attentive airport representative or guides and staff for a short transfer to your respective hotels in Kathmandu.
Accommodations & Food:
On this trek staying on a simple local lodge where is available, but more overnights in tented camping due to its remote location and away from main popular trekking routes we will provide all camping equipment and two men tents as per the size of a group, includes soft thin mattresses, dinging tents, toilet tents, and separate kitchen unit tents with cook, kitchen staff, trekking guides and porters to ferry all camping gear and your baggage.
During camping, provides you with healthy good meals from famous Nepalese Dal-Bhat to Continental with some Chinese, Tibetans, and Indian foods.
All meals are well cooked, hygienic, and served in a large dining tents as per group size with a warm environment.
Drinking-Water:
On treks and camping drinking water provided will be fully boiled and filtered for drinking.
Health:
Where all travelers require sound good health to join on all treks and climb around Nepal Himalaya with healthy medical background and history.
Vaccinations:
Check with your home doctors and season of visit to Asian countries where immunization and vaccines requires against certain diseases.
Altitude Sickness:
Altitude Sickness of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) might occur to some people on the higher altitude from 2,000 m for some above 3,000 m high, taking slow and drinking much fluid and water can overcome from high altitude sickness or AMS.
Where some can take protective measures using Diamox or Acetazolamide tablets this prevent and reduce symptoms of AMS can lower headache in high altitude walks and climb.
People with severe cases and situations of HACE and HAPE where the victim should be brought down to safe and secure places with medical team or doctors to attend, the fastest means is emergency evacuation by any means of immediate and fast transportation where available.
Around Nepal Himalaya the quickest emergency evacuation utilizing Helicopter services to bring the victims back to Kathmandu and for further treatments.
For emergency evacuation where trekkers should be well insured with a good Insurance policy that covers all medical side and the use of Helicopter or other means of transportation.
But on this Ganesh Himal and Ruby Valley Trek less chance of getting the above high altitude symptoms, where heights gains slowly and not much of a problem of altitude sickness, except for steep ups and downhill walks.
Travel Insurance:
Where all travelers to Nepal Himalaya require Travel and Medical Insurance to cover against unfortunate accidents and sickness covering Helicopter Service Rescue to safe places and nearest hospitals.
Age Requirements:
For Ganesh Himal Base Camp Trek, 18 to 60 years old will be allowed and this involves if one can get medical insurance from your home countries.
TIMS Card
TIMS (Trekking Information Management Systems) or similar permits for these treks include Conservation or National Park entrance fee as well.
Getting Into Nepal:
To reach Nepal one can reach by overland from India or Tibet, the main arrival from an international flight to reach Kathmandu and Nepal international airport.
Communication:
At present nearly all villages and towns do have facilities of ISTD and STD or cell phones or Sat phones, where one can easily communicate to your family or Trekking Planner in emergencies.
SIMS cards available on showing your passport copies with small charges as per your time in Nepal.
Money:
On paying a full package of the trip, where you need some extra money for your expenses to buy souvenirs or for extra entertainment on route treks like having extra snacks and drinks.
Culture:
Culture the main thing to observe by travelers to Nepal, where the country with two main religions Hindu and Buddhism with their own special interesting culture and custom.
Photography:
Photography can be taken all around Nepal, where some public and private areas of Government, religious monuments, and some old people might not allow photographs, where your guide will advise you on restricted places.
