Trip Introduction: Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek 2024/2025.

Poon Hill Trek, also known as the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, is great for interested visitors to Nepal who have limited time but a strong desire to be near high Himalayan peaks. It takes you on beautiful rural treks. One of the quickest and greatest hikes available in any Himalayan location is the Ghorepani Poonhill Trek. For novices and hikers alike, it is an amazing chance to discover Nepal. takes you to the mid-hills of the Annapurna Range's most intriguing high points and provides breathtaking vistas of lofty snow-capped peaks.

You will have enough time to see the surrounding hills and towns, learning about their cultures and centuries-old traditions. Natives here prefer a peaceful, natural life in harmony with the mountains and their beautiful, quiet surroundings.

Where does the Poon Hill via Ghorepani trek begin and end at?

Ghorepani Poonhill Trekking begins with a brief scenic flight towards Pokhara, a stunning and well-known tourist destination in Nepal. It is located in the Himalayas and is blessed with the natural beauty of lofty mountain ranges and tranquil lakes.

As you go from Pokhara to the foothills of the Annapurna range, the journey begins as you ascend from low, warm farmlands to chilly, alpine highlands covered in a magnificent, dense forest of rhododendron, magnolia and pine trees. In the spring, when wild flowers are in full bloom, the towering, green hills will come to life with blooms.

Trekking Planner Nepal will fill out the necessary paperwork and prepare the permits before the trek. We arrive at the Birenthathi for checking the (ACAP) Annapurna conservation area permit before heading to Tikhedhunga via Nayapul. Then our journey to Tikhedhunga starts after lunch by starting our walk from Nayapul. As we hike, we'll walk along the Modi River banks to Tikhedhunga village's entry.

Note:- The first day will be a little bit sunny, so don't forget to wear sunscreen and a hat while walking towards Tikhedunga from Nayapul.

We begin our journey from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani with breakfast. We cross the suspension bridge on our journey from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani. There is a lovely location to snap pictures of the waterfall if you turn slightly straight and up. We continue 1.5 kilometers down the route from Ulleri to Banthati, where we can have lunch or tea before continuing to Ghorepani. The route passes through several fascinating agricultural towns and the steadily increasing way arrives at a pleasant settlement at Ghorepani, which is situated at the foot of Poon Hill and surrounded by a rhododendron forest.

The big day early-morning climb will take you to Poon Hill from Ghorepani, the adventure's highest point is 3,210 m. Poon Hill provides spectacular dawn views of the mountain range that includes Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu as well as the magnificent Machhapuchare Himal, the renowned "Fish-Tail" peak.

After enjoying the breathtaking views, take a different path back to Pokhara through the picturesque and sizable town of Ghandruk, one of the most significant communities of the Gurung hill tribe near Annapurna.

After a spectacular short adventure and a magnificent experience on the Ghorepani Poon Hill short trek, we take a vechile and drive towards Pokhara airport and take a quick flight back to Kathmandu.

How difficult is the hike? Can novices do this trek?

The first trek in Nepal for novices is thought to have been this one. This is the most incredible journey for you if you haven't gone hiking often or if you've never done it before. In 4-5 days, you may ascend as high as 3210 to 3400 meters. This hike is for you if you don’t mind walking for 5–6 hours each day.

This trip is ideal if you want to spend some time in nature and are ready to walk for 6 to 8 hours each day; it's also a wonderful choice if this is your first experience trekking. Depending on your speed, you would be walking for 6 to 8 hours every day. Yet 6 hours is often the perfect walking time for the average person.

On this hike, is altitude sickness possible? What kinds of medical issues could arise when hiking?

You will reach a maximum altitude of 3300–3400 meters on this walk. We would only spend two nights at high altitudes during that time, the first in Ghorepani (2874 meters) and the second at Tadapani (2630 meters), which would be the highest we would go. Thus, experiencing altitude sickness would be unusual, but occasionally, if you don't drink enough water or get enough rest, you could feel a little lightheaded when walking.

Accommodation at the trekking trail

Depending on the schedule, the Poon Hill Trek might take 5–6 days. While there are a variety of hotels to select from in the city, there are also several guest houses and several routes that can meet your needs by offering meals and other facilities for lodging that suit your preferences. Camping in tents is an option if you'd prefer a more outdoor experience. The lodging choices are presented while taking into account price, location, meal quality, service, and sanitary standards. To suit the preferences of various trekkers, the many hotels and guesthouses provide food with Nepali, Indian, Italian, Tibetan and Continental flavors.

The Ideal Season for Visiting Poon Hill

The path is lovely, and hiking is simpler in the months without rain or snow. Therefore, September through November and March through May would be considered the greatest seasons. The days are clear and the temperature is mild throughout these months, allowing for beautiful views of the mountains during the daytime. Only the mornings and nights are a little cool. The walk may be short cut in the middle of a wet or snowy season, or you could miss the spectacular sights because the sky wasn’t as clear. On the other side, the walk can be completed at any time of year, and if you're lucky, you'll also get to take in the breathtaking vistas of the mountain ranges.

On the Poon Hill Trek, what should you bring?

Even though it is a relatively short journey, you need to bring several basics and several pieces of equipment. Whether you are using a porter or not, the weight of any trek should not exceed 15-20 kilograms. The items you'll need for the Poon Hill Trek are listed below.

  • UV-blocking clothing such as hats, scarves, and sunglasses.
  • T-shirts.
  • Jackets (windproof, waterproof, repellent).
  • Pullovers.
  • Easy-to-wear shorts and pants for hiking.
  • Normal walking boot.
  • Shoes (sandals, camp shoes, hiking boots with spare laces).
  • Bottle of water.
  • A sleeping bag (suitable even for temperatures below freezing).
  • Headlamps (spare bulbs and batteries) (with spare bulbs and batteries).
  • personal medical needs prescribed by doctors. (If you have any medical problems).
  • Backpack.
  • Toiletries.

Poon Hill's weather and climate

The weather will be pleasant and bright if you travel in the ideal seasons, which are spring and fall (Sept.-Nov. and mid-Feb.-mid-June), although evenings may be cool and the temperature may drop below freezing. You will be leaving behind warmer low-level areas as you make your way to Poon Hill to arrive at a location that might be below-freezing. Due to a variety of natural factors and surrounding weather patterns, the weather might change quickly and unpredictably. So the weather may be described as mild, but you should be prepared for any unforeseen circumstances.

What time do we go to Poon Hill From Ghorepani?

Get ready as we have to hike to the view point tower of Poon Hill, trekkers must rise around one hour and forty-five minutes before sunrise. Depending on the season, it may take a few minutes until the sun gently rises from the background to cast its golden rays on the mountain peaks, enhancing the already breathtaking scene. Even though it might be quite chilly and crowded in the morning, it all appears to be worth it until you see the mountain peaks shining in the early morning sun.The morning vista of the snow-capped mountain range is the highlight of the entire journey.

Important Note: Some hikers also prefer the sunset to the dawn because it is more peaceful and allows them to take advantage of the nice weather until the sun gradually sets behind the mountains.

    Extraordinary Trek in Nepal

Wow! What a beautiful experience I had on the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek, organized by Dipak, and guided by the incredible human, Nirmal. I arrived in Kathmandu without a plan and wrote to Dipak in the middle of the night, asking if he might be able to help me organize a trek in the next couple of days. He responded almost immediately and put together a trek that I will never forget: his precision, warmth, and attention to detail are impeccable.

As a guide, I do not think you could really ever ask for a kinder, more patient, and gentle guide than Nirmal. He taught me a lot about the kind of person I strive to be. Watching the way Nirmal interacted with everyone we encountered on the trek inspired me on so many levels, not only because he seemed to have friends in every corner, but even those individuals he hadn't met, he treated with reverence and respect, from the myriad porters, to the juice vendors, to the elderly villagers attending to their daily work.

Nepal's landscape is breathtaking and Nirmal knows every inch of the trails: the forests we walked through were beyond pristine, painted pink above and below as the flower petals of the rhododendrons create an otherworldly atmosphere with endless waterfalls, buffalo, sheep, and mossy neon trees. We wandered through villages high in the mountains where I often felt as though I was the only foreigner, and witness to a completely different way of life. Because I was with Nirmal, I was welcomed in a way I'm sure I wouldn't have been on my own.

The Nepalese people's spirituality seems to be encapsulated in their kindness, which emanates from almost all the individuals I encountered. Nirmal embodied this as he carried my horribly shaped bag without a single complaint, and gave me permission to go "slowly slowly," and Dipak, each time he checked in with me, or offered to help me with each and every detail.

I know I will return to Nepal and I cannot recommend enough that if you are thinking of coming to Nepal, DO IT. You will never regret it, and if/when you do, Dipak and Nirmal will do everything in their power to ensure that you have an unforgettable experience. I give them my highest recommendation.
