China Visa (in the case you enter Tibet from Nepal)
You need to get your Chinese visa from the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. Please note that if you have already got a Chinese visa at your home country, it will be cancelled and fresh visa will be issued in Kathmandu. So, it’s useless to apply for a Chinese visa until you reach to Kathmandu and avoid waste of money. The visa days in the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu are Monday, Wednesday and Friday and visa can be collected the same day upon payment of urgent fees.
Travel Insurance
Tours in Tibet is mainly in the remote area. You should be sufficiently protected and need to have travel insurance that covers emergency evacuation, lost items, liabilities, injuries, and medical treatment. Ensure the insurance covers all the activities in the Himalayas and mountains.
Altitude Sickness
Altitude sickness is a change in a body due to high altitude, decrease in atmospheric pressure makes breathing difficult due to less oxygen. Mainly, it happens above 3300m (10,000ft). Signs and symptoms are as follows:

  1. Headache/Dizziness
  2. Nausea/vomiting
  3. tiredness/fatigue and Delirious
  4. Sleepy but can't sleep and Drunken Gait
  5. Loss of Appetite

Prevention for this is to wear according to the weather, drink and eat plenty, walk slowly and climb high sleep low. Keeping hydrated, but make sure you avoid alcohol.
Transportation
Lhasa is recently connected with train network with main land China. Roads in Tibet are not very good but much has improved recently. Normally, 4 wheel Japanese jeeps and cars are used to carry tourists and trucks for supplies and equipment.
Garbage Disposal
Use a dustbins and do not throw anything into the fire. Carry garbage’s in the way where dustbin facilities are not available and conserve the environment.

Detail Itinerary

Upon arrival at the international airport in the Kathmandu you will be picked up by our airport representative and transfer to the hotel. After check-in, you will have a short briefing about your tour than rest for while. After refreshment tour guide will come to pick you up at the hotel and take you to the half day sightseeing tours to Kathmandu Durbar Square. Back to hotel, and be ready for cultural dinner. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Today after breakfast you will have day guided sightseeing tours Pashupatinath Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square than drive to Nagarkot for overnight. Nagarkot is Sometimes of the famous sunrise viewpoint of Nepal which is located near from Kathmandu on the hill from where you will be able to lovely panoramic Mountain View from east to west include Mt Annapurna and Mt Everest. This is such a nice place for a short walk around, you will able to join with local they are very friendly. Stay overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, we return to Kathmandu and keep day valley guided sightseeing tours to Patan Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa and Bouddhanath Stupa. Lunch will be in the Bouddhanath. Stay overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.

We get up early in the morning and drive about three hours along a winding road, carved out into steep hills, to the rafting starting point. Before you start sailing, our rafting guide gives you a small briefing about a river, rapids and paddling techniques. No experience is needed to raft but the feeling for pleasure and the spirit of adventure. After an adventurous day, you will overnight intent on the little silver sand beaches. In the evening you can just stretch your legs beside the campfire or you can join the rafting crew to cook your dinner.

After breakfast, you will raft for a couple of hours or more and then you will be transferred to our jungle lodge in Chitwan National Park. After refreshment you will go for a short excursion to a village. In the evening, there will be a slide show or briefing about flora and fauna of the park. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Full Day Jungle activities include jungle safari on elephant back, nature walks, jungle drive, canoe ridge and bird watching in the park having 360 sq. miles of tall grassland and thick forests. We will attempt to search out some of the elusive animals of the Terai, and with the skill of the fully will encounter the one-horned Rhino, various types of deer, boar and leopard and if we are very fortunate the elusive tiger. Later on this evening you will be able to watch Tharu Cultural Dance. Stay over night at the hotel

Today an early morning you will have one of the activities in the park than after breakfast you will drive back to Kathmandu through the scenic countryside. Prepare for Tibet tours, later on this evening we will give short brief about next day program and tibet tours. Stay over night at the hotel.

Today early mornings you will be picked up from your hotel and escorting by the guide and drive to Kodari. Breakfast will be on the way some where. After doing immigration and custom formalities drive uphill to Zhangmu immigration post. Complete custom formalities and further drive to Nyalam. Stay over night at hotel.

From Nyalam, the road follows the Bhote Koshi River in the deep valley with plenty of Waterfalls. After 1.5 hrs drive bring us to NYLAM PASS (3800m) with the Jugal Himala in view. A continued drive via Lalungla (5050m) will bring us in view of MT. Dorje Lakpa (6980m), MT. Makalu (8464m), MT. Everest (8848m), MT. Lhotse (8516m) & MT. Chooyu (8201m). Stay over night at the hotel.

Today after breakfast you will start your day drive with nice view of the mountain, drive goes slow up and down till Shigatse where the famous Tashilunpo Monastery and the seat of Panchen Lama is situated. Stay o/night at Shigatse. Stay over night at the hotel

After wonderful visit in Tashilunpo Monastery, Shigatse, continues drive to Gyantse crossing through the several town. Gyantse is a small but very nice and historical town which is located on the northern bank of Nyang Chu River. Stay over night at the hotel

Today after 08 hrs drive takes you to the Lhasa crossing the Karolap Pass (5010m) and Kambala Pass (4794m). Today you will have such a nice drive viewing of Truguoise Lake and Brahmaputra River. Reaching Lhasa and check in hotel. Your guide will ask you about onward flight ticket for reconfirm. Stay over night at the hotel.

After wonderful time in Tibet, today after breakfast at the hotel you will transfer to the Gonggar Airport fly back to Kathmandu. Up on arrival in the Kathmandu airport you will pick up by our airport representative and transfer to the hotel. Stay over night at the hotel.

Independent tour is prohibited in Tibet. You should take part in an organized group or tour operator.

Yes, but only the Bank of China in Lhasa has this function. Sometime, ATM there doesn't always work properly. we suggest you to bring some cash with you.

You should not take photo them without permission, please show the respect to them. Please, Do not talk about the sensitive topics like political or t religious matters and don't eat dog, donkey or horse in Tibet.

The new hotels have been built away from cities to protect the city history and environment. These hotels have heater facilities in winter but no cooling is available in summer. Older hotels located in the city have a good location but will not provide the level of comfort of the new hotels and may not have a facilities of heater. Hotels in small cities and the Everest Base camp are very basic. They will usually have a public bathroom with squat toilet.

Normally, weather in Tibet used to be Summers are cool winters are extremely cold. Sun radiation is high in Tibet. Mainly annual rainfall fall from June to September. The best time to visit Tibet is from April to October. The best time to visit Mt. Everest is May and early October.

It also depends on number of travelers, mostly minivan, Hiace, Buses are used around Lhasa as the road condition in Lhasa is pretty good.

This company goes above and beyond! They think of every detail and take care of all the trekking needs including accommodations, food, water tablets, medical emergencies, etc. Our guide Nirmal was extremely familiar with the trail, he was attentive - making sure everyone was taken care of, made us laugh the entire way, gave great advice/tips/recommendations for a successful trek, generous (carried some of the day packs up when they were feeling tired), encouraged us and more! I was so impressed with how well thought out everything was and I loved that I didn’t have to worry about the details and all I had to do was show up. The other guides and porters were all just as fun, thoughtful, and accommodating. I would highly recommended these guys for the EBC trek!

Best trek in the world

In March i completed the Everest High Pass trek with Trekking Planner and had all the support i needed from Trekking planner from planning the trip, to arriving in Nepal and then completing the trek. I had an amazing guide in Gyeljen, whose knowledge of the area was the best! This meant I was able to make it over the passes when many other groups didn't due to the weather. He helped with all the accommodation and provided great advice to help me deal with the altitude and very cold weather as these were a new challenge to me. The whole team and Dipak were very welcoming and funny and this meant the trek and then the visit to Chitwan afterwards was one of the best experiences of my life! Would highly recommend and planning to return sometime soon.

Everest Base Camp is such an amazing trek, but to have the best, kindest and funniest guide, who encouraged our team all the way and back, made my trek extra special. Nirmal Lamichhane your knowledge of all the mountains are incredible and you knew everyone on the trek. Watching you interact with the rest of the guides, they clearly have great respect for you. You are a natural leader. You are ambitious and know where you want to be in the future and I applaud you for studying while doing treks and taking people up into the mountains.

I enjoyed your stories and games along the way especially the last 2 hours before reaching Namche when it was up, up and up (your way of saying it is very steep). When I fell ill and gotten worse you were there all the way alongside me to help and encourage. The morning after reaching Base Camp when I was faced with being evacuated from Gorakshep, you told me that you believe that I could finish the trek and you would be there all the way if I choose to do so. Seeing the helicopter leave was hard but you believed in me and it made all the difference. Thank you so much.

Nirmal carried my bag on our decent in order for me to be able to breath better (I had bad flue, borderline bronchitis). Out of his own pocket, he bought us Fanta, lollypops, gum .... anything to lift moral on the last day down to Lukla. Our group had such fun with Nirmal.

If ever you need a guide, Nirmal is the perfect man for your trek. He does varies treks into the mountains, not only to Base Camp. Mountain expert, clued-up with flights to/ from Lukla, knows everyone and teahouses, can help with last minute gear, great knowledge about altitude sickness and knows how to take great photos (and how to pose, lol).

The organising of my trip was great. Before leaving the UK, all my emails were answered promptly. Collecting from the airport, great accommodation in Kathmandu and the tea houses we stayed at on our trek was great. We were taken to a welcoming dinner at a local Nepali restaurant. What an experience. They also arrange for a farewell dinner back in Kathmandu - all included in the price. The care and detail was appreciated. Fruit and biscuits at dinner while on the trek- and the guides carried all of it all the way. Taking our oxygen levels after every meal to make sure we were in great shape.

All in all I had the best experience! Thank you Trekking Planner.

I have just had the best travel experience of my life.

What a trip!

What a great buch of guys at Nepal Trekking Planner!

Dipak and his team made my trip so easy, simple and enjoyable - I can't still hardly believe it.

I felt totally safe and fully supported - which was a big thing for me as I was unsure how the high altitude would affect me. I needn't have worried as my guide Ananta and porter Ganesh were brilliant - really helpful, patient and firendly. Every night my blood/oxygen saturation was checked which gave me real confidence. Not many of the guides from different agencies were doing this which suprised me a little.

I had 16 days in the mountains and enjoyed every minute. As things became harder or easier, my intinery was flexible with Ananta very willing recommmend alternatives and to make changes to suit. This made a real difference and I really felt that I got the most from my trek.

I'm not one for recommending and over-praising but Dipak, Ananta and Ganesh all went the extra mile to make it all very special indeed.

Well done guys and (funds permitting) see you next year!

Brilliant service

Just finished the EBC trip with Trekking Planner. Brilliant service from Prajol in Kathmandu who covered my every need with cheerfulness. My guide on the trek, Sudip, was excellent throughout ensuring I made it to Kala Pattar despite a severe headache. He was great fun and was ably supported by Damact (?) as my porter. All in all I really aprecated the service from Dipak and his team and recommend them wholeheartedly.
